Job Description
  1. Set up and operate gear hobbing machines (manual or CNC-controlled).
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and gear data sheets.
  3. Select appropriate cutting tools, hobs, and fixtures for specific jobs.
  4. Align and mount gears, hobs, and workpieces accurately on the machine.
  5. Adjust feed rates, speeds, and cutting depth to achieve desired gear dimensions.
  6. Inspect finished gears using micrometers, vernier calipers, gear tooth calipers, and other precision instruments.
  7. Monitor machine operation and make fine adjustments for accuracy and surface finish.
  8. Perform regular cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of machines.
  9. Maintain records of production, tool usage, and inspection results.
  10. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
