Job Description
  1. Supervise and manage melting operations in the foundry.
  2. Ensure correct charge mix and maintain metal composition as per grade.
  3. Coordinate with spectrometer lab for chemical analysis and adjust composition accordingly.
  4. Monitor melting temperature, pouring temperature, and heat cycle.
  5. Oversee ladle preparation, lining, and pouring operations.
  6. Ensure smooth coordination between melting, molding, core shop, and pouring teams.
  7. Maintain logs of heat number, temperature, materials used, and production reports.
  8. Control raw material consumption: scrap, pig iron, alloys, and returns.
  9. Enforce foundry safety rules and ensure PPE use.
  10. Support preventive maintenance of furnace, crucibles, and related equipment.
  11. Train operators, helpers, and team members for safe and efficient melting practices.
  12. Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and ensure compliance with ISO/quality standards.
